Paul made everything more fun, just by being Paul.

Four of the Wilcox sons participated in our Boy Scout troop, three of them achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Paul was an enormous encouragement in his son’s lives and very proud of each of them. He and Penny were also a consistent source of encouragement and support to us as the Scout leaders, always making it a joy to work with their family.

Paul and Penny worked diligently with us to bring a marriage retreat to Chiang Rai just a few years ago. We chose them for our team because of what we’d observed in their marriage the many years we’ve known them. Paul and Penny are so easy to work with, so encouraging and diligent and present!
Paul taught my daughters to say “pardon” with a lovely Aussie accent (think pahhdon), when they needed something repeated. And they needed something repeated an AWFUL LOT after he taught them that because they thought it was SOOOO funny! They thought EVERYTHING Paul did was SOOOO funny.

Paul called by daughters “darling” (again with a lovely Aussie accent) and Wren always gave him the stink eye for it. And Paul always got a kick out of Wren’s stick eye!
He was the only adult I know besides my grown sons that was brave enough to confront Wren in a nerf way. And often unarmed.

He was cheeky with a persistent twinkle in his eye, and he always made me laugh.
Paul and Penny trusted us with their most treasured gifts, their children; and we trusted them with ours. No one has worked harder at making my daughters feel safe and belong than Paul and Penny Wilcox. For that along they will forever be my favorites.
