I will always remember your Dad as a man who helped me become who I am today. He played a big part in teaching me my self worth, and how to stick up for myself in the world. He nurtured me, and was a true father to me. I know it’s been complicated these last lot of years, but he’s always held that place in my heart. He was the funnest Gramps a granddaughter could have wished for and there are countless fond memories of him loving them as babies, rough playing, motorbike riding, adventuring nature, introducing them to youtube (against our will but he was determined for the nursery rhymes), teaching them Thai, rocking them to sleep, and I’ll never forget his disdain at not being able to find a matching nickname for SufSuf….it took him months but when he eventually landed at SaSa, the joy was palpable! They, more recently, have spoken of his love for ginger beer, choc mint icecream and taking Arnie to Hungry Jacks at every chance he gets….its the little things. But it’s also the love for them they knew he had.

Paul and Penny often sat in front of us at New Life here in Chiang Rai, or caddy corner and up a row or two. I remember him always putting his arms around your sweet momma and pulling her in. He did the same for Arnie. I know he loved well because of the tangible ways I saw him loving his family.

I remember Uncle Paul was always so much fun, with him there was never a dull moment. He had an incredible capacity to love people and bring Jesus into every conversation

we will never forget the hospitality your dad, mom, and family accorded to us when we visited chiang rai, how despite meeting us for the first time in a worship service in chiang mai where your dad preached, your parents readily invited us and took us into your home when we went there a year ago

Living on the same property as them I got the joy of every morning him walking down to the chickens. Wld say hi to me and then say good morning to the chickens “ hi girls good morning. Let’s see what we got today”. Man I will miss him.

I have special memories of him and Aunty Penny taking me to coffee and having a chat in one of the hardest times of my life. I remember him reading books to my girls and them giving him big cuddles… I remember his voice.

Not sure what the accent he had ended up being but his voice was WONDERFUL.

Something about it was so fun and full of life and so kind and loving. He was always smiling. He just OOZED out love for everyone no matter big or small, no matter who you were.
